(Dhaka) 6th March 2019, Wednesday: The Board of Directors of Summit Alliance Port Limited (SAPL), a publicly listed company, in its meeting held on 29th January 2019 has appointed Helal Uddin Ahmed as its Independent Director. He is also the Director of Summit Power Limited and Savar Refractories Limited. He completed his Masters from Dhaka University and founder member of Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University in Trishal, Mymensingh.

SAPL is the leading off-dock in the country’s private sector with around 22% shares in handling of containerised exports and 12% of the import volume. Besides, SAPL has also established the first ever river terminal facility in Bangladesh’s private sector providing off-dock services and economical cargo transportation, easing the pressure on the already overburdened Dhaka-Chattogram highway.
